A man in the street

A man walks idly down the street.
He contemplates his life,
Finding it good.

He thinks in his heart he does right.
He feels accomplished
Despite his few mistakes.

The 9-5 is satisfying,
Providing nice cars
And a well-fed family of 5.

He thinks he tries and ponders,
I am a good man and I do what I can!
Isn’t that enough, nobody expects me to be perfect right?

Who will show this man?
Who will show him the Truth?
Who will reveal to him the utter deceit that betrays his eyes?
Who will open his eyes and show him the Light?

He longs in his heart
To experience real love,
To see change.

He sees a glimpse
Of this love that seems so true.
But how can such a love be so free?

He only knows
Of a love that is fake,
And driven by the dollar.

How long must he wait
To tell the difference between truth and lies,
For his heart to see the Light?

Who will show this man?
Who will show him the Truth?
Who will reveal to him the utter deceit that betrays his eyes?
Who will open his eyes and show him the light?
Who will live true love?

He cries out to be woken up
To get out of his nightmare,
To have sweeter dreams.

Dreams of war haunt him.
The child in his worn tattered clothes,
Begging for even a crumb to eat.

Dreams of war haunt him
As he relives his best friend,
Blown away as they were laughing.

The thoughts of his past,
Of his previous dreaded memories
Cause his stomach to knot up with nausea.

Who will show this man?
Who will show him the Truth?
Who will reveal to him the utter deceit that betrays his eyes?
Who will open his eyes and show him the Light?
Who will live true love?
Who will guide him to the Healer?

His wife beside him
Longs to see light in his heart,
Hopes for a change.

Their fights were terrible,
She was left crying
And he wanted to release an unknown anger.

He didn’t understand
What this woman wanted.
Wasn’t he good enough the way he was?

He thinks of what his friends tell him,
It is ok to look at the merchandise without buying.
He isn’t hurting anyone why does it matter?

Who will show this man?
Who will show him the Truth?
Who will reveal to him the utter deceit that betrays his eyes?
Who will open his eyes and show him the light?
Who will live true love?
Who will guide him to the Healer?
Who will show him true beauty?

She longs to comfort him,
For his wounds to mend.
For his heart to find the healing Light.

She cannot be the Light.
He fights back like a wounded lion,
She hungers for peace.

She loves him so
But this man, this man is so broken
But he cannot see it.

She thought her love would be enough
To try to fix him.
She never knew it could be so hard.

Who will show this man?
Who will show him the Truth?
Who will reveal to him the utter deceit that betrays his eyes?
Who will open his eyes and show him the Light?
Who will live true love?
Who will guide him to the Healer?
Who will show him true beauty?
Who will show this man?

A man in the street
With a certain brightness in his eyes
Gives him the truth.

Anger sears his heart.
Who is this Person
Who didn’t keep him from his pain?

Why did she have to bear his heartless attacks,
His brazen pride and disregard
Of one that used to be so precious?

Why did he have to endure
Those many wasted days of war,
And the mourning of his broken family?

Who will show this man?
Who will show him the Truth?
Who will reveal to him the utter deceit that betrays his eyes?
Who will open his eyes and show him the Light?
Who will live true love?
Who will guide him to the Healer?
Who will show him true beauty?
Who will show this man?

Why did this happen to me?
Why am I the way I am?
Why am I so broken and empty?

It becomes more real
He begins to understand,
To catch a glimpse.

There is a Love,
There is a Comfort,
There is a Healer.

But how can He,
Do anything with such a man
A man who is such a mess?

Who will show this man?
Who will show him the Truth?
Who will reveal to him the utter deceit that betrays his eyes?
Who will open his eyes and show him the Light?
Who will live true love?
Who will guide him to the Healer?
Who will show him true beauty?
Who will show this man?

I love such a man
I am the Light to guide your dreams in the night,
And cease dreams of war.

I love such a man
I will be your comfort,
And guide your weary soul.

I love such a man
I will be your healer,
And mend your broken heart.

I love such a man
I will guide you in My ways,
And give you a heart that looks like Mine.

Who will show this man?
Who will show him the Truth?
Who will reveal to him the utter deceit that betrays his eyes?
Who will open his eyes and show him the Light?
Who will live true love?
Who will guide him to the Healer?
Who will show him true beauty?
Who will show this man?

Child, I am your light
You chose your pain,
You chose to be in the dark.

I was calling out to you
But you were unwilling to listen,
To hear My voice in your blackness.

Child, I am your light
Your days were not wasted,
And your family will be made whole.

Humble yourself,
And I will lift you up
And give you a joy, peace, and salvation inexpressible.

Child, I am your light
Follow Me,
Follow Me.
