Passion

This is a song by a band most haven’t heard of (The Curtis Band), and I know them because their CD was somehow in my house a long time ago, they are from my town, and the guy that plays the violin (sung background vocals at times too I think) for the band helped out with the youth group that I was a part of. I don’t know the name of this song, but I called it Passion. We have to be so passionate for our Savior, He is our Lover and we need to love Him like that. He loves His church, so should we love Him in that capacity, as His Bride. We cannot cease to forget that, rather than forgetting, or taking it lightly and being lukewarm (and being spat out like Jesus talks about)….let us with passion, fervency, and relentlessness seek Him as the God of old. Let us passionately desire to serve Him with all that we have. Let us completely lay down our burdens and troubles before the God whom we can love and trust. He is the one that will always take care of us, and always desires good for those who love Him. What love is better than His? Let us live our lives in lieu of that question – nothing else is better.

Lord Jesus be my passion
My longing my desire
As I walk through this life on earth
Ignite my heart on fire

Set straight my path before me
And guide me from above
In everything that I may do
Let my life reflect Your love

I to serve You, Lord
I want to lay these burdens down
I want to know you more, and more, and more

Lord Jesus be my passion
My longing my desire
As I walk through this life on earth
Ignite my heart on fire

Set straight my path before me
And guide me from above
In everything that I may do
Let my life reflect Your love

I want to serve You, Lord
I want to lay these burdens down
I want to know You more, and more, and more

I to serve you Lord
I want to lay these burdens down
I want to know you more, and more, and more
Cause everywhere I go I feel You
Everywhere I go I see You
Everywhere I go I know You’re there

Cause everywhere I go I feel You
Everywhere I go I see You
Everywhere I go, yeah

Take me where You want me
I’m yours where You lead me
Take all of me, yeah

  1. Hey man…my name is Jeremy Swain…I’m from Elizabethton, TN. I actually wrote this song around 1997. Andy Curtis is a friend of mine and recorded it a while back. Glad it’s a blessing to you! There are other verses to it…just email to let me know if you want to read them and I’ll send you an email back.
