In my confusion

In my confusion
I see life disillusioned
Paper thin walkways
Over bridges to be burned

In my confusion
Ends don’t meet needs
Sight left long ago
Dull eyes meet sound

In my confusion
Feels like sense
Doesn’t make time
Goes by so much faster

In my confusion
Right is up and
Left is down and
Equilibrium ceases to exist

In my confusion
Can I change how
I feel now today
Who am I now

In my confusion
Knowing ceases to exist
Understanding meets nothing
Minds cannot take refuge

In my confusion
I know not much
Worlds seem to collapse
Around my feet today

In my confusion
Lighthouses find meaning
Sitting quiet dispells dizziness
Feelings are met by One

In my confusion
I don’t know much
I do know magnificent love
Loving I cannot go wrong

In my confusion
My beacon is to
Love the Lord my God
Let me be moved by You

Life can be confusing. I’ve met many, including myself whom life throws wrenches in a functioning machine. Gears are stripped of their teeth and confusion within the machine ensues. There is a lot we can’t understand. That doesn’t inherently mean we have to figure it out. You get more focused on understanding than on the God you are trying to understand. You try to understand more than seek wisdom about your circumstances and how to honor God within that. You forget what you’re designed to do, and that is to LOVE.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
~Philippians 4:4-9
