Here Now

Here Now

We’re here now what do we do
The person next to you is grieving
You sit there bewildered again
Away you’re simply walking

Where is our compassion
Our empathy is nonexistent
Sympathy flickers like a florescent bulb
With our easy life we are content

I have my head in my hands crying
Is it my sin or did I just lose someone I love
Can you even see the pain I suffer through
Or do you have your eyes locked in the clouds above

Where is our compassion
Our empathy is nonexistent
Sympathy flickers like a florescent bulb
With our easy life we are content

The person in the ditch is over there dying
We sit gorging on another continent
Not a care in the world how we can
Spending more yeah what extent

Where is our compassion
Our empathy is nonexistent
Sympathy flickers like a florescent bulb
With our easy life we are content
Our eyes do not see nor our ears hear
We are mute dogs without a hint
How our world lies in ruins every day
Our Savior died for all these people
We care more about putting up our steeple
Hah, who has even committed love

Do we tell them of our God
Of His amazing grace so free
Christ’s life He lived so we live
His death so we died to sin
The glorious hope now set within
So that now whatever persecutions we now face
In our weakness we humbly rest on His grace
Knowing that He will always see us through
Remembering what He has done for me and you

This is more than a call
This is a rally cry for all
This is more than a poem or song
This is for the people that deeply long
For someone to reach out to them
Inside and out they are wearing thin
Longing for someone to just be with them
And living and dying in their sins
