Thought I was a good guy

I thought I was just a good guy
Now it means nothing
Thought I could fly
Now I’m left here dry

Here I run always to the aid
Poor in spirit, the needy
My heart poured out in cascades

I thought I was just a good guy
Now it means nothing
Thought I could fly
Now I’m left here dry

I see the hurting crying there
Weakness pouring from their eyes
With an arm around them I cared

I thought I was just a good guy
Now it means nothing
Thought I could fly
Now I’m left here dry

I lived a righteous upright life
Thought I did everything right, yeah
Ha I knew nothing about real life

I thought I was just a good guy
Now it means nothing
Thought I could fly
Now before You I cry

Here at Your feet I see mercy
Nail scarred feet I long to wash
Oh what I feel washing over me is mercy

I thought I was just a good guy
Now it means nothing
Through Your blood I
Yeah now I can fly

Sky’s the limit
Cause You exist beyond it
On the verge of a nonexistent faith
But the Savior intercedes for my case
Praise the One who continues to be my Base
Who goes beyond what I can ever imagine
He continues to bring me and lay me at His righteous throne
Where in years to come I’ll see His glory eternally shone
Thank You for being so holy
For showing me constantly the way though at times I’m blind
In everything I remember how You were constantly kind

I thought I was just a good guy
Now it means nothing
Through Your blood I
Yeah now I can fly
