What if I loved someone?

What if I loved someone and that someone was you
If the world fell around still I would be there too
Second chances given when you fail to give me even a glance

What if I loved someone and that someone was you
If you constantly search but nothing comes into view
Grabbing hold of a hand even when the earth’s in a fold

What if I loved someone and that someone was you
If you’re totally oblivious to my existence yet you choose
Buying you out of the hell you’re in but still you pout

What if I loved someone and that someone was you
If I always knew that your actions would be skewed
Rescuing my bride from slavery chained on the inside

I asked her to come and live with Me
To not look back, or look at other men she sees
Just to Me as her soul desire and I AM with consuming fires

And the LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins.”
–Hosea 3:1

This is the beauty of the picture of the love of God for His people, even when they play the harlot. He still desires them to come back and be faithful to them.
