A gentle reminder

Reminiscing of failures past
Withering away like leaves during fall
Bright colors of my emotions fading to dust

I’m reminded at a gentle word it’s not death
Emptiness in my branches doesn’t spell doom
Rather a coming spring and new growth

When the sun warms the grass in coming days
I’m reminded deeply of the newness in Your ways
It’s been there the whole time, the Truth

  1. i like this one – i think it’s good. it is certainly poetry.
i like it because it’s encouraging, but specifically in a subtle way (assessing the whole situation and arriving at the conclusion in a natural rather than forced way) and Biblical way (“Truth” is what really matters).
i think it’s kinda short even to be ideal length for a short poem, but…perhaps that just makes it more “short and sweet”.
“Iโ€™m reminded at a gentle word that itโ€™s not death” seems a little long to me. perhaps take out “that”?
    hope this helps. God bless

    • Thanks man! Yeah, there is usually a lot of subtleties and references in what I write… it’s usually stuff God gives me to chew on too so sometimes there is a lot even in something small. A good example of that is one called “Love…”

Good call on the ‘that’ ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for your help! And if you ever need any let me know! You should try to get published on Amazon or something too… you write just as good if not better than I do! You can help a lot of people as well ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. This one I like a like as well. Not only true and piercing to the heart but beautiful in the use of poetry. You really do have an amazing gift with words! ๐Ÿ™‚
